This training course looks to support organisations to understand the importance of using Social Media and how to begin. It will be a practical course to help organisations set up and navigate their own Twitter accounts, with a view to increasing brand awareness, as well as interaction with service users, funders and the local community.

Twitter for Beginners

Suitable for:

Organisations who are yet to use Social Media, specifically Twitter, but wish to start

Content:

This training course looks to support organisations to understand the importance of using  Social Media and how to begin.  It will be a practical course to help organisations set up and navigate their own Twitter accounts, with a view to increasing brand awareness, as well as interaction with service users, funders and the local community.

The training will cover:

  • How to sign up for a Twitter account and post your first tweet
  • How to complete, and change, your Twitter profile
  • How to follow someone on Twitter and find friends
  • How to tweet, including character limits and how to shorten web addresses
  • How to use photos and share content
  • How to use Twitter hashtags to be part of a bigger conversation
  • How to use Twitter search
  • How to link Twitter and Facebook accounts
  • A brief look at other online tools that could boost your Social Media, including scheduling, free photos and design tools

Delivery method:

This training course will be very practical and group led to ensure that information delivery is both practical and engaging.  It will utilise real examples, step by step direction and group discussion.

Learning outcomes:

Participants will understand the benefits that Social Media can have for organisations and how to effectively use tools that are available.  Participants will leave the course with an active Twitter account for their organisation, and the basic understanding of how to use if for their purposes.

Attendees will also be entitled to a one to one Social Media surgery following the training, to receive individual support aimed at diversifying and improving their Social Media usage.

Requirements:

Participants will be required to bring some things with them on the day;

  • Laptop
  • Organisation photos eg of service users, groups etc
  • Organisation logo
  • Access to an organisational email address, ideally your main contact address

This half day course does not include lunch however teas and coffees will be provided.

  • Pay via a cheque hand delivered to our office at the above address with details of the course you are booking.

We request that all payment is received 5 days prior to the course.  For a full refund please advise us 10 days prior to the course. If you are unable to attend you are able to identify a replacement delegate, please also advise us of any change in delegate.
