This session gives an overview of key legal topics. The language is kept as jargon-free as possible, and the focus is on what the law means for everyday practice.

- The General Data Protection Regulations and volunteer data
- Health and safety
- Criminal Record Checks
- Issues for specific groups - benefits claimants, younger/older people, non-UK citizens
Mark Restall has spent almost 20 years working in volunteer good practice, at a local and national level. He is the author of Volunteers and the Law (now in a second edition as an online resource for NCVO members).
