All of the activities will be run by local voluntary groups and organisations to give residents a chance to find out more about the valuable work that they do.
We are promoting community action and showcasing the range of amazing services available to Bexley residents, as well as thanking them for the difference they make to the lives of local people and communities.
Here’s just some of the things you could do on the day;

Preparing for Volunteering Training - Tuesday 6th June (9.45-12.00)
This free session will give an overview of volunteering for anyone interested in lending a hand to a local group. It will cover how and why organisations involve volunteers, and what they are looking for from applicants. We will look at the unique nature of volunteering, and what it’s actually like being a volunteer. There will also be tips on how to choose a role that’s right for you – what kind of organisation you would like to support and what kind of work you’d like to carry out.
This will be an interactive workshop, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and find out more. Places for the course can be booked online.
Volunteer Centre Drop-In - Wednesday 7th June (10.30-12.30)
We will be available to have one to one meetings with anybody who would like to volunteer but is not sure how or what they would like to do. Our experienced team will be able to go through what you would like to do, what your interests are and availability is and available roles that might be suitable for you. We can also offer extra support to anybody with a mental health issue or learning disability. There is no need to book you can just call in.
