This course provides an overview of collaboration types, strengths and weaknesses along with some tools and techniques that can be helpful in developing partnerships or collaborations. The principles are taken from a variety of collaborative working models. The trainer has practical experience of developing and working within partnership across all sectors.

This course will benefit anyone with responsibility for considering or developing partnerships with their charity. Partnerships can be defined as joint working, by two or more charities, on a project or venture in order to fulfil their purposes, whilst remaining as separate organisations. You might be a senior leader, trustee, senior fundraiser/ business developer or operational manager – the techniques outlined in this course can be applied across all disciplines.

 

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the different types of collaboration and partnerships including potential benefits and pitfalls
  • Understand what makes a good partner and collaboration
  • Use a range of tools and methodologies to progress and develop collaboration between organisations
  • Evaluate the success of a partnership and develop trouble-shooting strategies
