Volunteers need support, and an opportunity to both give and receive feedback. This course will help volunteer-involving organisations offer a supportive environment, get the most from their volunteers, and help avoid problems arising with them.

This course is aimed at Volunteer Managers and anyone with responsibility for volunteer involvement.

Volunteers need support, and an opportunity to both give and receive feedback. This course will help volunteer-involving organisations offer a supportive environment, get the most from their volunteers, and help avoid problems arising with them.

  • Induction and training
  • Volunteer motivations and development
  • Support for individual volunteers
  • Giving volunteers a collective voice
  • Dealing with problems

Delivery method:

This is a participative workshop, with a particular emphasis on placing the attendees in the shoes of their volunteers.

Learning outcomes:

Participants will:

  • Understand the unique nature of volunteering and what this means for volunteer involvement
  • Be able to draft development plans for volunteers
  • Appreciate the importance of space for individual and collective feedback
  • Develop confidence when dealing with problems

The half day course does not include lunch however teas and coffees will be provided.
