Content:
The foundation of good financial management with any charity is to keep it simple. This half-day training is a short introduction to the essentials of finance for charities. It considers key financial roles and responsibilities and how they impact your organisation. It examines important concepts like budgeting, financial controls, book keeping, and the accounting framework. We also look at how to use the charity Commission’s guides and how to create action plans and checklists.
Delivery method:
The training is delivered using a blend of methods including visual tools, interactive group work and case studies that allow you to see the realities of putting finance principles info practice.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the training you will be able to:
• Explain what the accounting framework is and how to use it
• List two financial responsibilities that charities need to undertake
• Explain what accounting records need to be maintained
• Evaluate which action steps you can put in place after the training to grow purposefully
