Volunteer managers and anyone who recruits and/or supports volunteers. Volunteers under 18 have a lot to offer, but many organisations can worry about involving them. This course will help dispel fears and give attendees a good grounding in everything they need to know to tap into the enthusiasm and passion of young people. Volunteer managers and anyone who recruits and/or supports volunteers

Delivery method:

This will be a participative session, with scope for questions and concerns to be raised and discussed.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the session, you will:

  • Be clear on the legal and policy issues for Volunteer-involving organisations (VIOs)
  • Be aware of good practice on safeguarding young volunteers including policies and DBS checks
  • Understand some of the barriers that young people face and how VIOs can overcome them
  • Have the information you need to decide whether including young volunteers is right for your organisation and adjustments you need to make

The half day course does not include lunch however teas and coffees will be provided.

  • Pay via a cheque hand delivered to our office at the above address with details of the course you are booking.

We request that all payment is received 5 days prior to the course.  For a full refund please advise us 10 days prior to the course. If you are unable to attend you are able to identify a replacement delegate, please also advise us of any change in delegate.
