Role Description

Family Lives is seeking to recruit a Family and Volunteer Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating and developing the volunteer and parenting aspects and the activities of the Early Years Service team in Bexley. This role will involve recruiting, training and supervising volunteers, as well as facilitating parenting workshops and courses. The post holder will also be responsible for the coordination of parenting support services.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of facilitating parenting groups or supporting parents. You will also have experience of coordinating, recruiting, training and managing volunteers. You must also have awareness of local recruitment organisations in the voluntary sector and the role of volunteers in community projects. We are looking for individuals with the ability to work effectively in partnership with external organisations, parents and volunteers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required.

A commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, as well as commitment to equal opportunities principle and practice are essential. This role requires regular travel across areas where public transport is limited, so a full driving licence and a car or suitable alternative means of travelling are required.

As a condition of appointment to this post you are required to hold an OCN Level 3 qualification in Parent Practitioner Skills or equivalent or be willing to pursue, and to have achieved it, within 6 months of your start date. Demonstrable relevant experience may also exempt individuals from all or certain modules of the OCN. The decision of Human Resources is final regarding the appropriateness of other qualifications or previous experience.
